We don't talk much about our director, Tarkeshwar Singh. But in many ways Tarkeshwar is SARTHI, and SARTHI is him. Here's a very recent photo of him, talking to police officers about ways to improve treatment of street children in Patna. Tarkeshwar has worked for decades with street children, children from broken families, juvenile offenders, abandoned children with mental and physical disabilities -- kids in almost every kind of dire situation imagineable. If there's one thing we SARTHI volunteers have come to know about Tarkeshwar Ji, it's that no matter how hopeless the odds look for a kid he works with, he never gives up - no matter what.
